Artificial intelligence
Students are permitted to use generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) as indicated in the assessment instructions for this unit, as well as Studiosity Writing Feedback Plus.
GenAI may only be used in authorised ways when completing assessments at UC. This means that GenAI can only be used for an assessment when:
- the Unit Convener has authorised GenAI use for that assessment
- the student uses GenAI in the way that the assessment instructions allow
- the student fully acknowledges their use of GenAI, with proper citations, references and a GenAI Acknowledgement Statement in line with the assessment instructions.
Where the assessment instructions do not specifically state that GenAI may be used and how, then its use is not permitted for that assessment. Students must still provide the required GenAI Acknowledgement Statement to indicate whether GenAI has or has not been used in the preparation of the assessment. If unsure, students should seek advice from the Unit Convener.

Students must apply academic integrity in their learning and research activities at UC. This includes submitting authentic and original work for assessments and properly acknowledging any sources used.

UC students have to complete the Academic Integrity Module annually to learn about academic integrity and to understand the consequences of academic integrity breaches (or academic misconduct).

Learner engagement
The unit requires active participation by students which includes listening to the lectures, attending tutorials( face-face or online), undertaking the readings and any relevant assessment tasks. Students need to pace themselves around the timetable and ensure that they are able to participate in the group activities that are carried out during tutorials either in person or through online participation. Active participation in group work for the major final assessment, attendance at tutorials where group work is carried out and when external experts and health promotion teams present is required. Students must complete all assessment items to pass this unit.
Participation requirements
Students are expected to participate by undertaking the readings and assessment tasks. While the pacing of this unit is structured around a weekly participation by downloading and listening to the lectures, attending tutorials, undertaking the readings and any relevant assessment tasks, students may choose to work at their own pace as long as assessment deadlines and participation requirements are still met. Students must complete all assessment items to pass this unit.
Required IT skills
Capacity to navigate the Canvas site, download relevant readings and lectures, and participate in online activities is necessary.
Students will also be expected to use MSOffice in order to work on group assessments.
