The focus of this unit is skills development and the content within the unit supports the development of the following skills and concepts:
- Keep a reflective journal of online learning.
- Identify how to maximise learning online.
- Leverage smart devices in lectures and tutorials.
- Utilise third-party online content (e.g. iTunes U.)
- Use Learning Apps for tertiary education
- Explore a range of web technologies for learning
- Use online applications and technology safely and ethically
Topics will include:
- Information systems (IS) concepts
- Types of IS
- Data, information and Business Intelligence
- Levels of business information
- Competitive advantage and Global eBusiness
1. Understand basic concepts in business information systems;
2. Understand and apply coding principles for creation of applications; and
3. Work in groups to create interactive and user centred products.
