Womanhood is a free-verse poem which explores the diverse range of natures and circumstances of women. This poem sheds light upon the rawness of women's features, providing detail of their bodily functions to their contributions to a society that is predominantly patriarchal. By coupling rawness with patriarchy, the poem expresses the different struggles women face, ranging from the taboo nature of puberty to rigid gender roles that enables censorship. Fictional references are incorporated to enhance the strength of this claim and demonstrate the timelessness of women's struggles. Capturing the reality by such depictions of women, Womanhood demonstrates that one's status as a woman is dynamic.
