Look Back in Anger is a realist play written by John Osborne. It focuses on the life and marital struggles of an intelligent and educated but disaffected young man of working-class origin, Jimmy Porter, and his equally competent yet impassive upper-middle-class wife Alison. In the play, Jimmy has a short monologue criticising his wife for judging him. Because she has lived an easy life while in his eyes his life is anything but, in this monologue, I aim to capture the anger that Jimmy is feeling but also convey that this anger is coming from a place of sadness and pain.
