Should we Abolish the Leviathan of the Police?

Hobbes argues that we need the Leviathan of the state to stop “the war of all against all”. But some modern activists argue that we should abolish the police. I have engaged with these two political theories to conclude that the Leviathan is actually more harmful than beneficial to society, and abolition is likelier to achieve a safe, free and fair nation. In doing so, I hope to demystify this "radical" idea.

Furthermore, I think my essay is relevant to the 21st century, as around the world (particularly in America) calls for police abolition are growing in prevalence and urgency.
