The artwork is done using lead drawing pencils as a medium. The focal point of the piece is the face which is half covered by a "headpiece" if you will. The headpiece is constructed from roses and faces are visible within the roses and the hair on each individual's hair is what creates the hair seen in the drawing which becomes part of the focal character's cranium, as if all the figures in the piece are somehow interconnected. The faces display different emotions, which contrast with the stoic expression of the focal character's face.
