My design was derived from a coastal theme, utilising curves and texture to emulate movement, colours and textures of a coastal environment. Prototypes were produced using 3D printing and balsa wood. Calculations and angles had to be solved to deliver my design whilst maintaining the structural integrity of the piece. The construction of the compound angle legs required testing and production of concept prototypes. Testing of materials resulted in the use of Tasmanian Oak and Rosewood.
