The end of everything is a short story that tackles with a lone, unnamed protagonist dealing with their inner thought as they reason to themselves about how they should act regarding the end of the world. Through the course of the story the protagonist is caught in the struggle of nihilism vs optimism and self ignorance vs self honesty, and the textual features and plot progression reflect as such. The story above all is one I wanted to be about self love through making peace with internalised hate, in every sense of the idea.
