Cultivate the knowledge and critical skills necessary to understand and respond to the complex humanitarian and development challenges of the contemporary world. This specialisation engages with the interconnected themes of humanitarian intervention, sustainable development, global health, the legacies of colonialism, as well as ideas of development across a range of local and international contexts. You will critically examine the social, political, historical, and environmental forces that shape development outcomes and explore how individuals, organisations and communities navigate and respond to change. By integrating theoretical inquiry with applied practice, you will build the capacity to contribute meaningfully to sustainable, ethical and community-centred approaches to humanitarian action and international development.
