The major in applied psychology provides students with a sound knowledge of the theory and applications of selected areas of applied psychology via a systematic program of study. The major commences with an introduction to key background psychological theories, before proceeding to units with an applied focus offering detailed study in specific areas of counselling, sport and exercise psychology, ethics in professional practice, forensic psychology, and health psychology. Satisfactory completion of either 4309 or 4310 is a prerequisite to enrolment in the subsequent units comprising the major. The program is a six-unit major.
