This major develops a sound understanding of a wide range of chemical principles and analytical and field applications as it applies to the analysis and interpretation of environmental problems. It provides a foundation for students pursuing a career in industry/government or as secondary chemistry teachers, and also in the support of research or professions in other scientific discipline areas. Together with the Major in Ecological Conservation (MJ0036), this major would provide a sound platform for continuing education in areas of environmental research, government or industry employment in many sectors.
