Faculty of Business, Government & Law | Canberra School of Politics, Economics and Society | 18 |
This major introduces students to key concepts and issues in national security. As the nature of the state changes and new threats and challenges emerge, nations are reassessing their security interests on a continual basis. Globalisation, non-state actors, the proliferation of weapons of all types, climate change, potential energy shortages and financial turmoil are forcing us to think of security in different ways. The major is an open elective major available in any degree in the University. Students completing the major can expect to develop careers in defence, intelligence and security organisations.
