Psychologists are increasingly providing support to people with a mental illness who come into contact with the criminal justice system, or assessing the dangerousness of suspects. This major provides skills and background in the area of forensic psychology, enabling graduates to function more effectively with clients who have a mental illness, or in criminal justice settings.
Bachelor of Science in Psychology students will be required to take Forensic Science and the Law and other units in lieu of 4309 and 7128 to make up 18 or 21 credit points.
Students wishing to complete the 21 credit point option will take an extra unit from the list of restricted choices.
Prerequisite and/or Corequisite: Note that the unit 7128 Psychopathology has a prerequisite of unit 4310 Psychology 102.
