A sound understanding of the biological and chemical basis of the normal function of the human body as well as a sound appreciation for the techniques used to investigate these functions is required for accurate disease diagnosis. This major provides a thorough grounding in the theory of normal function of the body and the technical aspects required for efficient laboratory investigations.
Basics of modern biology (biological chemistry and cell theory) as well as the generalities of human anatomy and normal organ function. The latter must include homeostatic principles and mechanisms.
