Film production is a practical major that provides students with the technical skills and knowledge to enable them to make a film from concept to screening. Students explore film production through a broad range of forms, such as filmic essay, documentary, and narrative short films that allow specialisation opportunities. The major combines practical aspects of filmmaking, with extensive use of professional quality film equipment (cameras, lights, audio) and uses industry-standard editing and post-production software, as well as looking at screen analysis through the practitioner's eye. The major is open to students from all courses in the university.
