UC Endowment fund – giving to the future

UC Endowment fund – giving to the future »

An endowment is a sum of money given to the University to invest.

The original amount is never spent, it is invested by the University and grows over time. The income generated by the investment is then used in a way agreed by you, the donor.

You may choose to give to the general Foundation Endowment Fund and the University will direct funds where they are most needed. Or you may prefer to support a particular area that you choose – for example, an annual scholarship or a specific field of research. There are no limits on what you can achieve, the University makes unique agreements that reflect the passions of you, our generous valued donors.

To discuss your areas of interest and find out more, please contact the Foundation Team.

Memorial

Memorial or celebration  »

Memorial or celebration gifts can also be referred to as Named gifts.

They allow you to make a gift in your name or as a way to memorialise or celebrate someone special or inspiring to you. They are most commonly set up to support scholarships and prizes but can also be made in support of public lectures, collections, academic positions and facilities.

Our team will work with you to tailor a solution that reflects what is unique about the person being celebrated and/or memorialized.

Some examples of memorial gifts are:

  • Dr Sarah Cope Memorial Award
  • Clea Rose Travel Award
  • Richard Norris Memorial Fund
