Thanks to a generous bequest from Emeritus Professor Richard Norris, the Richard Norris Memorial Fund has been established.
This endowed fund is awarded to a promising post graduate research student, primarily in the area of applied ecology.
The inaugural recipient of the award is Chamani Marasinghe Wadige who is undertaking her Doctor of Philosophy (Applied Science) with the Institute for Applied Ecology titled Fate and effects of existing metals in the Molonglo River sediment to benthic biota.
"By conducting works at the echochemistry laboratory at IAE and participating and presenting at conferences, I have gained broad knowledge and experiences on environmental toxicology and chemistry. These are the enormous rewards given by Richard Norris Scholarship to my study and my life."
Gifts like Richard's have an enduring effect for the University.
