We pride ourselves on our inclusivity at UC. If you’re living with disability or an ongoing health condition, services are available to help you succeed in your studies.

Whether you need alternative exam arrangements, flexibility with your assignment due dates or help developing your reasonable adjustment plan, our InclusionUC staff will be your personal support team.

A reasonable adjustment plan outlines the ways we’ll provide you with flexibility and support throughout your course so you have the same opportunity to succeed in your studies as other students. This can include anything from extended assignment and coursework deadlines to accessing assistive technology, software and spaces.

Plans can be reviewed with our InclusionUC team periodically or on request.

Main

We want everyone to cultivate the confidence and skills they need to succeed. If you’re living with disability or an ongoing health condition, you’ll have access to a wide selection of support services throughout your studies.

These services are organised by our InclusionUC staff and include:

  • an assistive technology room in the UC Library, complete with adjustable tables and chairs and specialised accessibility software
  • electronic versions of textbooks and other teaching materials
  • AUSLAN interpreters
  • scribes who provide exam and in-class support
  • digital tools
  • hearing loops
  • screen magnifiers
  • screen readers and text-to-speech programs
  • voice recognition software that allows you to navigate web pages and programs with your voice
  • motorised scooters for easy access around campus
  • ergonomic study furniture.

Our Bruce campus also includes accessible toilets, lifts and accommodation, plus more than 80 accessible parking spaces. Accessible accommodation is included in our on-campus student housing options – make sure you specify that you’d like an accessible room or studio when you apply.
