Study a UC music degree at The Grove Studios Academy

The Grove Studios Academy offers a different experience to a traditional study environment.

Located on the NSW Central Coast, The Grove Studios has spent more than 25 years at the heart of Australian music. Working alongisde iconic Australian artists including Silverchair, DMA's, The Presets, Empire of the Sun and Birds of Tokyo, they have established themselves as one of Australia's leading recording studios and a respected name in music education.

Through its partnership with the University of Canberra, you can study the Bachelor of Creative Industries (Contemporary Music Practice) in a working professional recording studio where music is created, recorded and produced every day. Learn alongside experienced industry practitioners, develop practical skills and gain insight into how the music industry works in practice.

Whether you're interested in production, songwriting, performance, audio, publishing or music business, you'll graduate with the skills, experience and qualification to take the next step with confidence.

Why study with UC at The Grove Studios Academy?

Discover a different way to study music, combining hands-on training with a university qualification.

Over the years, The Grove Studios Academy has built a strong reputation within Australia's music community. Founded by musicians and industry practitioners, it was created with a simple idea: the best way to learn about music is by playing it and perfecting your craft.

Located within a professional recording studio, it's a place where music is created, recorded and developed every day. Instead of learning in a simulated environment, you'll study in the same spaces used by working artists, producers and industry professionals.

Through its partnership with the University of Canberra, The Grove Studios Academy combines practical studio-based learning with a recognised university qualification. It's a place where creativity, theory and production come together.

Apply using your portfolio

You don't need an ATAR to start your creative journey at UC. Through our Portfolio entry pathway, you can apply for the Bachelor of Creative Industries (Contemporary Music Practice) by showcasing your creativity, skills and experience.

Portfolio entry recognises that creativity takes many forms. Whether you've been writing music, producing tracks, performing, creating content or building your skills independently, it's an opportunity to show us what you can do! Apply to uni without an ATAR using examples of your best work.
