Course overview

Gain crucial knowledge and insight into the language of business. Students will be shown how managers can identify, obtain, manipulate and analyse data in order to make more informed business decisions.

Many university graduates aim to become managers, either of their own business, or as part of a management team. A critical attribute of management is the ability to incorporate both financial and non-financial data in a range of decisions including pricing products, setting budgets, and evaluating performance. Learn how to apply these essential areas of skill and understanding in the management of a business.

Examine how a range of psychological factors, including certain biases, can negatively impact the decision making of business managers. Recognise the impact of these psychological factors and understand the importance of being adaptable in our own thinking in order to make informed business decisions.

Co-requisites

To be eligible students must be studying one of the following majors in their home college.
