Sovereign Hill Schools offer a unique two-day, fully immersive experience in one of the museum’s five costumed schools: Red Hill National School, St Peter’s Denominational School, Ballarat Benevolent Asylum Ragged School, St Alipius Diggings School or Wesleyan Day School.
Students will be exposed to some fascinating insights into the distinct social norms and hierarchy of the times. Each costumed school may receive a unique visitor who could interrupt the strict and ordered classroom environment by providing a theatrical and interactive performance involving and engaging all participants.
Students are given the rare opportunity to go behind the scenes in many of the Sovereign Hill businesses and experience first-hand, the tough and turbulent times of life on the diggings.
