Reconciliation
UC's Vision
To the University of Canberra, national reconciliation will be achieved with an Australia that embraces unity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians, and with a national culture in which equality and equity, acceptance of our shared history, and positive race relations are dominant features.
Outcomes necessary for reconciliation include equality and equity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in education and employment, and the elimination of all areas of disadvantage, of racism, and of injustice.
We believe that a key component of reconciliation in Australia is the elimination of the profound disparities between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians in educational, economic, and social outcomes.
