Thesis Writing Workshops

This series of workshops is designed to assist research students from any discipline to gain a clear understanding of the thesis writing process and develop essential skills required for writing a thesis. It also aims to provide a venue for thesis writers on campus to share their research and writing experiences, give and receive constructive feedback, and benefit from such intellectual sharing during their thesis writing process.

Time: 2-5pm Wednesday

You may register for the entire series of workshops, or selected sessions. To register for the workshops, contact the Academic Skills Centre on 6201-2205. You may also drop in the ASC office in building 5A13.

Intensive Grammar & Writing Course*

A few times a year, the ASC runs an intensive 5 day Grammar and Writing Workshop. This workshop is very popular and places are limited, so it is important to book early. We charge a small fee to cover cost of materials and refreshments, and payments must be made upon booking to secure a place.  

 

The Grammar & Writing Workshops

The Grammar & Writing workshops aim to assist UG and PG students to improve their English language skills and complete university assignments. The Grammar & Writing workshops also provide a place where students can work together on assignments, share their writing experiences, give and receive constructive feedback

Online Registration 

 

Pronunciation Workshop

This workshop is for students who are non-native speakers of English wishing to improve their English speaking skills. Students will have opportunities to practice expressions used in the academic setting as well as those used in everyday life through a variety of activites. 

Students are expected to attend ALL classes.

 

Research Skills

Students are advised to take advantage of the research skills workshops offered by the Library.
