Esteemed children’s author celebrated at UC

11 June 2015: The life of award-winning Australia author Colin Thiele, best known for his novels  'Storm Boy' and 'Blue Fin', was recently celebrated at a presentation at the University of Canberra.

The event 'Colin Thiele His Work and Legacy' was held at the Ann Harding Conference Centre on 2 June, as part of the Colin Thiele Festival, with four speakers revealing their unique insights of Mr Thiele.

The speakers included his daughter Janne Minge, Walter McVitty who published 14 of Mr Thiele's books, researcher Margaret Carmody and John Sheedy, director of the stage production of Storm Boy.

The event was organised by the Lu Rees Archives of Australian Children's Literature which is based at the University of Canberra Library and holds more than 26,000 books, audiotapes, artwork and photographs.
