Construction Project Management (10139.1)

This unit aims at providing the students with an understanding of the theory of project management, including project inception and planning, scheduling, risk management, budgeting, management of stakeholders and project teams, constructability, value management, quality management, and management of conflicts and variations in project processes.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:
1. Design project management strategies for construction projects;
2. Differentiate the roles and responsibilities of a construction project manager, with reference to resources, cost, time, risk, environment, local planning and community;
3. Demonstrate advanced skills as team member and team leader; and
4. Formulate and propose solutions to project management issues.
