This artwork is an illustration of myself with a variety of symbolic elements. Done using prisma-colours, Copic markers and lead pencil. The artwork was done for a school project and inspired by Frida Kahlo.
The illustration intends to portray feelings of cognitive dissonance; specifically for me, wanting to grow and change myself, but feeling divided and restrained by who I am at my core. This artwork was drawn during a time in my life where I wanted to try new things and grow as an individual, but felt afraid to try as a result of the label I created of ‘who I am’ as an individual.
