The appropriated series encapsulates the themes of portraiture and the informality of the original photos taken by Barry Lategen of Twiggy in 1966. Employing portraiture techniques, the series of 4 images makes reference to the original contact sheet. Each individual photo is designed to showcase the facials of Twiggy but also the varying stages of ageing. The photos that obscure and manipulate the portrait challenge the rise of botox culture. The rise of social media has led to individuals developing low self-esteem and unrealistic expectations about what is defined, normalised and dictated
