Two connected paintings of a woman adorned with a halo and angel wings. A transcription of Nana by Edouard Manet in the context of the portrayal of women in modern day media, including film and visual representation. Through the visualisation of religious iconography and the appropriation of ‘Nana’, The demonisation and simultaneous glorification of women is explored. The two wooden boards can be interchanged.
