Guardian Witch

My artwork is heavily focused on the environment; our current environmental crisis is severely impacting forests around the world, and so I’ve drawn a guardian of the Forest that could hypothetically protect the forest from harm. I like to think that she is a soul split between the deer and the human; an animal and a human, both of which encompass different parts of the whole soul. I was inspired by Appalachian Folklore for the designs of the characters, as well as the potions on the girl’s stick. I chose the Appalachian mountains due to their old age and heavy ties to community.
