Cann̶o̶t̶ Speak

This artwork depicts Grace Tame who regularly sexually assaulted when she was 15 but was not able to speak out about it due to the law in Tasmania that prevented victims from doing so. This artwork shows the struggle she had to go through to finally speak out and eventually get this law overturned.

The artwork uses contrast to show Grace’s journey in being able to speak out through her being more saturated compared to the background. The graphite figure in the background represents how powerless she was when she could not speak out.
