This piece is an exploratory artistic project on the creation and application of silver gelatin photographic emulsion. It shows the practical behaviour of various kinds of silver gelatin mediums ranging from commercial paper, to premade emulsion, to handmade emulsion. This study was done to show the development of photographic mediums over time and represent the way in which the photographic medium would have historically been utilised, how it compares to modern equivalents. The project is made up of 10 photographic tests of the same image, accompanied by extensive notes.
