In my artwork, The Beauty of Life, a woman is shown looking up at a beautiful blue butterfly gracefully hovering in front of her. Tnis work depicts the connection formed between the humanity and the natural world, with the woman's peaceful expression towards the gentle butterfly displaying the true beauty of nature and the calming impact it has on the human mind. The text at the bottom of the painting originates from the title and first line of a famous German poem by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. The text translates to 'Thou that from the heavens art', simply meaning That you are from heaven'. I chose to use this line from the poem as it eloquently illustrates the divine beauty of the world and those who inhabit it.
