A spark in the dark

A spark in the dark is a short animation that explores the passion for creativity an individual can discover. It begins with a class of “lost” boys writing about their future jobs. One of the students starts to discover his interest in Art and loses control of his creativity. It is then quickly attempted to be extinguished by his teacher. This presents the illusion that careers have to be taken “seriously” and are not supposed to be “fun”, which is not true in the slightest. My animation was heavily influenced by Japanese culture and their animation style known as “anime”. It also hints towards the development of traditional Art and the animation timeline, from practical to technological.
