Night Skies

My poem Night Skies calls to attention the little things in life. We are so engrossed in our own lives we sometimes forget to just stop, take a step back and appreciate the natural beauty of the world around us. The first stanza sets the scene and is reminiscent of the moments in my childhood when I was being driven back home at night. I would press my face up against the cool glass and stare mesmerised by the hundreds and thousands of twinkling lights outside. It’s times like these when I wish that time would freeze just so I can enjoy the company of true beauty for a little while longer.
