BACHELOR OF ARTS IN OFFICE MANAGEMENT, 1998

Graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Office Management in 1998, Kristy Oberg has over 15 years of experience as a human resource professional. Starting at a boutique management consulting firm in Canberra, she gained skills as a Human Resource Consultant before heading back to Sydney where she worked as an HR professional in Deloitte. Her career took her to the UK to continue work in HR in large investment banking institutions such as HSBC, Credit Suisse, JP Morgan-Cazonove.

In 2008, she returned to Australia, had a son and now works as the HR Manager for the Australian School of Business and College of Fine Arts at the University of New South Wales.

She attributes her success in the HR profession to the work experience she gained as she studied at the University. "Before graduating, gain as much experience in your chosen field as possible as this, in addition to your degree will give you a competitive advantage over others seeking similar roles," Kristy shares.

Kristy still stays in touch with friends from UC through Facebook and recalls her fondest memories at the University were spending afternoons with friends at the Iguana Cafe over their famous chicken burgers.
