Gail Freeman is one of Australia's leading accountants and business solutions experts, with over 30 years of experience. Since 1987, Gail has owned and operated her own accounting firm, specialising in tax advice, financial management, and small business strategic planning. As a former council member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, Gail was responsible for meeting with Prime Ministers, Treasurers of Australia and the Commissioner of Taxation to discuss high level tax policy. Her expertise on tax issues is highly sought by professionals, and Gail contributes a bi-weekly column to the Canberra City News, discussing taxation.

Not only has Gail started her own accounting firm and raised a family, she continues to generously give her time and resources to charities and organisations across Australia. Gail is a past member of the Canberra Hospital Board and she is currently the Treasurer of Toora Women Inc., an organisation dedicated to helping women in need. Since 1989, Gail has been a member of Rotary International, filling roles at the Club, District and International levels. Rotary International is an organisation of businesses and leaders who provide humanitarian services and promote ethical practices in all areas of business. Gail was the first female President of the Rotary Club of Canberra South and she currently serves on the Canberra Theatre Advisory Committee.

Gail has been a strong advocate and role model for professional women in Canberra. She was the first female chartered accountant in Canberra to establish her own practice, and she was the first female President of the ACT chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. For Gail's strong leadership, charitable spirit, and entrepreneurship, she was named in UN Women Australia's 100 Years, 100 Women list, acknowledging women who have made a significant difference to Canberra. In 2013, Gail's achievements were also recognised at UC's Distinguished Alumni Awards and her story continues to inspire fellow graduates and university students.
