FAQs

Saturday 20 September 2025, from 9am to 3pm. All activities will be taking place at our Bruce Campus.

Once you've explored our course pages online, come along with any questions and chat to our academics in person on the day. From questions about online study, course content to majors and minors, we're here to help.

Some activities will be held outdoors on the concourse, so make sure to dress for the Canberra weather.

Registrations will open closer to the event. Registering before UC Open Day Fest is a great way to plan your visit to the campus and make the most of your day. Once you’ve registered, you will also receive access to our Open Day App, including our brand-new Open Day Gamification that will reward you for exploring an engaging with the event with prizes, freebies and merch!

Registering in advance also means we can keep in touch with you in the lead-up to and post Open Day Fest.

If you are an international student or agent coming along in person, UC Open Day Fest is a great time to speak with our International Recruitment team.

The senior years of schooling can be a difficult and stressful time for young people, as they navigate the wealth of courses and pathways available to them. To support and guide the young person in your care, try asking some open-ended questions, this will encourage them to consider their passions, strengths and career goals:

  • What do you want to try first when you finish school?
  • What are you good at?
  • What jobs, careers or industries appeal to you?
  • Do you know what’s on offer? It’s not just about the courses UC offers – what about connection to industry, support and wellbeing, Work Integrated Learning, studying abroad, and the culture on campus.

Whether you’re currently at school, about to begin your university journey for the first time, or returning after a long break, we can help you find your fit.

UC Open Day Fest is also a great opportunity for our alumni to re-connect and see how things have changed since you graduated!

If you are in Year 11 or 12 and feeling unsure about what comes next, you're not alone. Choosing a university and the right degree can be overwhelming, but attending UC Open Day Fest is the perfect place to start.

Take a campus tour, chat with teachers and get a feel for our campus and facilities. You'll also get to try hands-on experiences that could make you consider new study options!

Even if you are in Year 10, it's worth coming along (and c'mon... we'll have free donuts!). Getting a head start can help you feel more confident and give you time to think about what you want to do after school.

Ask questions, look around and get inspired.

UC Open Day Fest gives you the opportunity to meet current students, ask questions to academic faculty staff about courses and pathways, and engage with our student support services.

It’s also a great way to tour our facilities such as our laboratories which provide specialist teaching spaces in science, health, arts and design, as well as collaborative spaces for student living and learning.

There are plenty of ways to get to our Bruce Campus.

If you are driving we recommend planning your journey here: canberra.edu.au/maps

Note: Parking at the Bruce campus for UC Open Day will be free of charge.

If you are travelling by ACT public transport, please plan your journey here: transport.act.gov.au

We want everyone to cultivate the confidence and skills they need to succeed. If you’re living with a disability or an ongoing health condition, our Bruce campus includes accessible toilets, lifts and accessible accommodation, plus more than 80 accessible parking spaces.
