Transport

There are many options for travelling to the University of Canberra. We have provided some information below to assist you. The ACT Government has also developed a Journey Planner that you can use to compare travel times for cycling, walking and public transport to our Campus.

A series of dedicated cycle and shared cycling and pedestrian footpaths link to the University campus. Further information can be found at http://files.transport.act.gov.au/cyclingmap/.

The University provides an array of bicycle hoops and bicycle storage options around the campus and at each building for your convenience to secure your bike. Whilst we have excellent CCTV coverage of our campus, we encourage you to ensure you lock up your bike to ensure its security.

Secure shelters are also available for residents of UniLodge and Campus Living Villages within their residential precincts.

Green cycle ramps have been installed at the stairs leading from the road near oval 1, up to student central and the concourse and near Building 3. Bicycle repair equipment is installed adjacent to the Foundation Stone near Student Central for your convenience.

The Campus Services map shows information about showers available across the campus. This includes a large facility in Building 1, Level A, behind Mizzuna and a large change and locker room within Building 4.

Pay parking on campus is enforced from 8:00am – 5:30pm, Monday to Friday (public holidays excepted). For more information about parking rates and parking information, please visit our Parking website.

Get your MyWay Card

The easiest way to travel in Canberra on the Public Transport network is to pick up a MyWay card. MyWay is a prepaid ticketing system for convenient, easy travel at a discounted rate. These can be purchased and recharged at the UC Shop on campus, recharge agents, Access Canberra Service Centre or online or by phone. To obtain a student concession MyWay card, just complete the application form at the point of purchase.

Please visit https://www.transport.act.gov.au/tickets-and-myway for more information.

Alternatively, you may pay for bus trips with cash on board the bus.

Using your MyWay Card

Entering the Bus: Tap your MyWay car by waving it over the MyWay card reader located at the front and rear entry passage of the bus. Once the transaction registers, you will hear a single beep and see an on-screen notification. You can then proceed to find a seat or standing area.

Exiting the Bus: Once you reach your desired stop, tap your MyWay card by waving it over the MyWay card reader as you exit the bus.
