Relevant information
You MUST choose 1 of the 6 Specialist Majors and each specialist major will have different impact on the credit points you will receive, and the duration of study. Please seek course advice (SciTech-StudentEnquiries@canberra.edu.au) for the relevant study plan of your chosen specialist major. Students may be eligible for more than 15 credit points of credit depending on which Specialist Major they select. Further credit may be sought after relevant course advice has been given from the faculty.
This amount of credit you receive will impact your ability to undertake a Breadth Major, should this be something you are interested in pursuing. There is no right or wrong way to use your credit points, but you should seek course advice (SciTech-StudentEnquiries@canberra.edu.au) to ensure your priorities for your study are met.
Depending on your selected Specialist Major, you must also complete between 0 and 9 credit points (0 to 3 units) of Open Elective units at Level 3 (in addition to the required units). You must complete a total of 18 credit points (6 units) at Level 3 or higher for the entire course
*For students commencing in Semester 2: Note that students with no prior Chemistry background are not recommended to attempt 11724 Chemical Concepts in their first semester of study. Please contact SciTech-StudentEnquiries@canberra.edu.au if you require further information.
