Include each of these elements in your perfect breakfast to improve your brain function throughout the day. Why eat breakfast? Eating breakfast increases your cognitive function throughout the day to have you working happier and longer. Breakfast reduces hunger which means you will make better food decisions later in the day. What to include in your breakfast. Carbohydrates- whole grain carbohydrates such as porridge, toast or cereals. Look for low GI options which have less refined sugar. Fruit- include a piece of fruit or glass of juice. Dairy- a little bit of dairy is important whether it is milk on your cereal or in a glass.
