The Ngaladjima Gardens will be receiving new Ngunnawal Country plant species with an education session on the species and their benefits.
When: Thursday 18 August 2022, 1pm-2.30pm
Where: Ngaladjima Gardens (behind Ngunnawal Centre/ next to the library)
What to expect:
The event is an educational session ran by Richie Allan, Ngunnawal Traditional Owner. During the event new native species will be planted in the UC Ngaladjima Gardens, with tasting of traditional Indigenous foods and the stories of their origin and benefits. Come and enjoy some bush tucker, some gardening and some interesting information.

o 1.00pm - Smoking Ceremony by Uncle Fred Monaghan
o 1.15pm - Welcome to Country by Aunty Roslyn Brown
o 1.20pm - Address from UC Executive
o 1.25pm - Hear from Richie Allan
o 1.35pm - Stories from UC Academics on using the space
o 1.45pm - Collective planting and bush tucker tasting – open to all attendees
o 2.30pm - Event concludes
