From PhD to winning a world robotics challenge to a million-dollar business!

Dr Jürgen "Juxi" Leitner is the CEO and Co-Founder of LYRO Robotics. Before starting LYRO, Juxi led the robotics manipulation efforts at the Australian Centre for Robotic Vision (ACRV), most notably leading Team ACRV to victory in the Amazon Robotics Challenge. Incorporated in 2019, LYRO has since raised more than AUD 1.5M from international investors. Juxi led the company's first few years from an idea to the first prototype (0 to 1) - the world's first fresh-produce pattern-packing robot, "Packman". The company is currently deploying their next batch of robots while scaling up to get more robots into the hands of farmers and packing house operators. This is his journey from early entrepreneurial ventures in the Austrian Alps to a PhD in robotics and leading a successful robotics start-up in Australia.

Bio: Juxi is a world-renowned roboticist with extensive experience in robotics, AI, and entrepreneurship. He has spent the better part of the last two decades in research and academia with short stints in industry and a year at the European Space Agency.  Juxi is still working at the intersection of #Robotics, #RoboticVision and Artificial Intelligence (#AI), has authored more than 100 publications, and has given more than 50 invited talks across the globe.
