Building Resilience: Architectural Strategies and the Just City
This Masterclass will present an overview of key ideas and formal devices that may aid architects better accommodate the urgent and often contradictory imperatives that distinguish today's architecture and urban scale practice. We will evaluate 3 case studies drawn from contemporary architecture and suggest ways we might begin to take certain concepts and form generation lessons forward in theoretical, pedagogical and practice terms. In this workshop you will be encouraged to consider ways we may collaboratively achieve over time more resilient built form and open space outcomes and in turn contribute to a just and sustainable future.
