Abstract
The practice of organising creative works into genres emerged (at least) as early as Aristotle’s classifications in the Poetics, though more recently its value has been questioned. This presentation suggests we explore the concept of genre in terms of operations: of how writers create new works, and how critics might understand how a work of writing can function to create literary experiences.
All are welcome!
