We live in an era of sensory overload and short attention spans, in which it can be hard to find time to pause, think, and write. Rather than attempting to stem this tide, this workshop will instead use a disparate array of visual stimuli – both images and texts – to explore how fragments and brief encounters can not only draw out our individual creativity, but also give rise to stimulating and surprising collaborative work in voices which may not be our own. As well as leaving with a pocket full of seeds from which to grow our own poems, we’ll also write something together which will be bigger than all of us.
Suitable for all: just bring pens, paper, and an open mind.
