Kindness isn’t weakness. Restorative approaches for just relations workshop.

We are excited to come together face to face and forge our next steps together.

Everyone is welcome!

Please register on this link for catering as well as for Covid safety purposes.

We are fortunate to have an external facilitator, Rho Sandberg, who has generously volunteered her time to help us explore the idea that 'Kindness isn't weakness' in the context of how we live and work together as a restorative community in Canberra. Discussions that may arise include:

  • How can we recognize and ‘see each other’ in our positions of personal and professional activity in our community?
  • What are the shared values that will help us work together with integrity?
  • How can we ensure that our relationships with each other are just and principled?
  • How can we be stronger and kinder as individuals and more connected as a community?

Facilitator Rho Sandberg MCC

Rho Sandberg is an ADR practitioner who supported the introduction of restorative practice in pilot and subsequent iterations of the Defence Abuse Response Taskforce. Her practice is informed by her early careers in the fields of neuroscience and psychotherapy, with a strong appreciation of trauma informed care.

Rho is a leadership and organisational development consultant, and founder of the Global Coaching Institute, training executive and conflict management coaches in Australia, Japan, USA and Europe. Rho holds a Masters in Conflict Facilitation and Organisational Change (PWI – USA) and has a particular interest in the relationship between the conscious and unconscious use of power and the dynamics of marginalisation in the emergence and escalation of conflicts. She facilitates forums of up to 500 people globally, applying the principles of Deep Democracy and Worldwork to diversity and inclusion related dialogue and conflict.

An experienced mediator, Rho was instrumental in the introduction of conflict management coaching to Australia, and worked with the Victorian Public Sector Commission to embed the conflict coaching as ADR best practice across 70 departments and agencies. A CINERGY® Conflict Coaching accredited trainer, her passion for conflict coaching led to additional studies in the field of coaching. Rho is now one of only 1200 coaches globally to achieve the status of Master Certified Coach – a skill she brings to working with executives, boards and leadership teams.
