Many education systems have positioned professional learning at the centre of school reform efforts. In alignment with this trend, there is a growing evidence base indicating that effective Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) can have a powerful impact on teacher development, professional culture and student outcomes. When implemented effectively, PLCs deeply impact a school’s culture, making them one of the more complex school improvement initiatives. 

This masterclass will explore how teachers and school leaders can maximise the school improvement potential of PLCs. For a more thorough investigation, a detailed PLC unit is offered in UC’s Master of Education degree.
