Join us in celebrating the strength and success of those involved in the PACES program with Breakfast at the iconic Hyatt Hotel Canberra
This year the Breakfast will be held on Friday 27 November at Canberra’s iconic Hyatt Hotel and will be hosted by Virginia Haussegger AM, with a keynote address from UC health alumna Suzie Hoitink.
The breakfast celebrates and recognises women in the UC community and this year will also support the PACES (pre-habilitation, activity, cancer, exercise and survivorship) research group. PACES has partnered with the Canberra Hospital Oncology Unit and ICON Cancer Centre to research the impact of exercise on those living with cancer.
Their research has proven that exercise helps to:
Improve patient prognosis
Successfully improved mortality rates
Increased treatment success rates
Join us in celebrating the strength and success of women in our community and those involved in PACES and see how they are staying a step ahead of cancer!
“It’s been a game changer for me. I have stage 4 cancer. I can’t go to the gyms now they have reopened, it’s too risky. Every time I face a new obstacle, we figure it out. The PACES researchers help me exercise safely. It’s a really important program.” – Kathy, PACES participant 2020
