Event about:

Job Design for Greater Inclusion

Following International Day of People with Disability, the Diversity Council of Australia’s final Diversity Leadership Program event for the year will investigate the role that inclusive job design can play in creating accessible and inclusive workplaces for all, and particularly for people with disability.

DCA are delighted to have two specialists in occupational therapy join DCA CEO Lisa Annese to talk about job design for greater inclusion. They will cover:

  • Why it’s important to create places where people work together with an understanding of skills, strengths and workplace enablers
  • What occupational therapy is and how it can contribute to creating inclusive places of work
  • How to conduct a Functional Workplace Assessment
  • How to encourage an ‘enablement’ mindset
  • The role of lived experience in inclusive job design.

We will also hear from businesses that have had success in this area, and touch on DCA research on the importance of involving the team in job design.

Our guest speakers will include:

  1. Jo Bassett, Occupational Therapist and Leadership Coach,
  2. Jacqueline Broadbridge, Lecturer in Occupational Therapy Practice Education at Griffith University, and
  • Tim Gordon, Partner in Gilbert + Tobin's Corporate Advisory Group
