In 2023, JET returned to live form after a five year hiatus from touring, to celebrate 20 years of their debut album Get Born. That same year their enduring legacy was officially recognised in November, when they were inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame. Since then, Jet has been riding a wave of momentum. 2025 saw Jet perform huge shows across the US and join Lenny Kravitz locally on his Blue Electric Light Tour to adoring fans and rave reviews with Rolling Stone stating, “We immediately get what we need from the Melbourne rockers”. Originally hailing from Dingley in Melbourne’s south-east, Jet exploded onto the global stage following their formation in 2001. Their landmark 2003 debut album, Get Born, sold more than 6.5 million copies worldwide, earning nearly 10x Platinum certification in Australia and Platinum accreditation in both the US and UK. Packed with era-defining singles including ‘Are You Gonna Be My Girl’, ‘Rollover DJ’ and ‘Look What You’ve Done’, the album saw the band collect six ARIA Awards in 2004. ‘Are You Gonna Be My Girl’ and ‘Cold Hard Bitch’ both reached No. 1 on the US Modern Rock charts, cementing Jet’s place among the biggest rock acts in the world and propelling them to headline festival stages across the globe.Building on that success, Jet returned in 2006 with their sophomore album, Shine On. Showcasing the band's trademark blend of swaggering rock and infectious melodies, the record delivered fan favourites including “Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is”, “Bring It On Back” and “Rip It Up”. The album achieved Platinum status in Australia and was supported by a string of acclaimed international headline tours, as well as a memorable run on the 2007 Big Day Out festival circuit. After delivering knock out performances on Part 1 of the Rumblin’ Regional Revue in April and May this year, Jet are polished and poised to blow away crowds on Part 2 of the tour. Don’t miss Jet at the top of their game, 25 years deep into their career, on the Rumblin’ Regional Review this October and November.  Joining Jet across all shows (except Tasmania) are Sydney 5-piece alt-rockers, Liquid Zoo. Bursting onto the scene just last year, Liquid Zoo are making waves with their infectious energy and brazen confidence on tracks like ‘Taste’, ‘Tell Me’ and ‘Can’t Afford It’. Self-certified as “20% rock, 80% roll”, Liquid Zoo channel the swagger of The Rolling Stones and the sharp-edged cool of The Strokes. Warming the stage across the Tasmanian shows are Hobart’s own acid-psych blues-rock four-piece Spooky Eyes. Having supported the likes of Foo Fighters, Jack White and Wolfmother, the electrifying outfit are known for punishing ears with their eclectic brand of amplified psychedelic blues. Their signature sound is on full display across tracks such as ‘Evil Eye’ and ‘Harvest’.

RAPP Lab 4.4: Movement, Music and Machines

What stories can artists and intelligent machines co-create, and who decides how they are told?Over two days, actors, movement artists, musicians and sound artists from the Canberra creative community will work alongside robots at the University of Canberra's Collaborative Robotics Lab. On Monday evening, they open the doors and share what they have made.Since 2017, RAPP Lab (Robots, Art, People and Performance Laboratory) has brought artists, engineers and audiences together through curiosity, experimentation and play, from Indigenous choreography to physical theatre ensembles. RAPP Lab 4.4 adds music to that conversation. Learn more at https://rapp-lab.roboticart.orgAt the centre of the evening is ENACT, an embodied AI developed by Dr Maleen Jayasuriya and Piumi Wijesundara, which responds to a performer's body in real time. Alongside it are Dr Richard Savery's Keirzo music robots. Participants will improvise with both, devise short pieces, and look inside ENACT's neural network to see what it "pays attention to".This is a work-in-progress sharing, not a polished production, surprises included.AI is arriving in the creative arts quickly, often with little say from the artists whose work it draws on. RAPP Lab takes a different route, building its systems with performers and working through questions of ownership, authorship and benefit openly with the artists in the room. After the performances, join the conversation: what should ethical collaboration between artists, technologists and AI look like, and how might a community, rather than tech companies, shape it?Stay on for light refreshments and a chance to meet the artists, researchers and robots. No technical background needed.Date and timeMonday 26 October 2026, 6.30pm to 8.30pm (AEDT)Showcase from 6.30pm, followed by light refreshments and networking.VenueTheatrette 1A21, Building 1University of Canberra11 Kirinari StreetBruce ACT 2617Getting thereTheatrette 1A21 is near Mizuna Cafe on the University of Canberra campus.Map: https://maps.app.goo.gl/yMR3bxc8JhB3Xmmg9Led byDr Maleen Jayasuriya, Piumi Wijesundara, Dr Richard Savery, Prof Damith Herath, and A/Prof Janie Busby Grant (University of Canberra)CostFree. Thrown Australian Tour 2027 with special guests Boundaries, 156/Silence + Volatile Ways

Swedish metalcore phenomenon Thrown today announce their return to Australia after selling out their entire February 2025 headline tourand will be back this February. Marking Thrown's biggest Australian headline tour to date they'll be joined by special guests Connecticut's Boundaries, Pittsburgh's 156/Silence and opening proceedings will be Australia's own Volatile Ways. Since emerging from Stockholm, Thrown have established themselves as one of the fastest-rising forces in modern heavy music. Today, thrown continue their meteoric rise with well over one million monthly Spotify listeners and hundreds of millions of streams worldwide. Thrown recently released "critic," a ferocious new single out now via Arising Empire. Sharp-tongued, crushingly heavy and unapologetically confrontational, the track takes aim at self-appointed tastemakers, performative outrage and the endless cycle of online commentary, proving once again that thrown thrive where others merely make noise. Fuelled by venomous vocals, bone-crushing grooves and explosive breakdowns, "critic" is a ruthless response to a culture obsessed with opinions, metrics and manufactured controversy. Boundaries are coming in hot, off the heels of their new album Yearning: the unbeautiful after. Recorded with producer Drew Fulk (Knocked Loose, Fit For A King), Yearning: the unbeautiful after captures Boundaries at their most punishing, deliberate, and focused. The 14-track album features guest appearances from The Plot In You’s Landon Tewers (“Crowned and crucified”) and Make Them Suffer (“Torn wide open”). With Boundaries recent visit to Australia supporting The Plot In You on a fully sold out tour, fans know what to expect to from the conninect metalcore group 156/Silence are finally making their debut to our shores where they'll bring their intense, foreboding, and haunting music. Their songs are cinematic, blending brutality with intellect. They draw on real and imagined terror, all woven into melody and power. The band will release their sixth studio album, From A Distance, on September 4, 2026, through Pure Noise Records. Rounding out the bill will be Newcastle's Volatile Ways with their hard mosh death core made by hardcore kids. With unmatched energy that radiates through their playful disposition at live shows and honouring femininity, the multifaceted four-piece manage to bring brutality to the forefront; having shared stages with The Acacia Strain, Fit For An Autopsy, Bodysnatcher, Kublai Khan, Thrown, Dying Wish and Speed among others.
